Celebrate Bisexuality Week in Sydney - A list of events
There are quite a number of Bi-NSW volunteers labouring away to get a swag of events organised such that anybody who is in Sydney in September should have no excuse for not attending at least one of our events.
The following is my current best effort at correlating all the info on what we have happening. It is almost guaranteed that I'll have some errata, but none of them will be deliberate!

Email Niko if you can help with installing all the art work. No experience required just a willingness to engage in some physical labour.
Friday 15th Sept - 7pm - QArt Exhibition Opening
Aurora Gallery
Gold coin donation
qart@bi-nsw.org.au
Come along and browse the varied artwork, concept pieces, sculptures and more that have been put together by our curator Niko. Unlike previous exhibitions this venue allows us to have some "adult themes" presented. Of course browsing through the rest of the attending crowd is good fun too! Drinks & nibbles supplied.
The QArt exhibition continues through the week from 2pm-7pm every day until Thurs 21st.
Friday 15th Sept - 10pm - Spanking Booth @ Hellfire Club
"The Gaff" (formerly Rogues), Oxford Square
convenor@bi-nsw.org.au
This is a fund raising event for Bi-NSW and a lot of fun. We set up a booth in a corner of the Hellfire Club ( www.hellfiresydney.com) and provide a menu of spanking activities for interested partygoers. Depending on the menu item prices range between $2 and $10 and the patron can be on either the receiving or giving end. Fetish dress is mandatory for attendance at Hellfire and Bi-NSW members receive a discount on the entrance fee.
Saturday 16th Sept - 8pm - BiFusion dress rehearsal
Aurora Gallery
bifusion@bi-nsw.org.au
For those who would like to help the artistes perfect their presentation, or if you are one of the artistes, this is the final chance before the big day.
Sunday 17th Sept - 3pm - BiFusion's "Sunday Matinee's gone to the dogs"
Aurora Gallery
$10 / $5 concession & Bi-NSW members
bifusion@bi-nsw.org.au
Dramatic performance, dance, song, poetry, comedy, burlesque, acrobatics. There's no guarantee that the BiFusion folks will have all of this but whatever they have planned it will be fun, queer, and personal. These are all people who simply like to get up on the stage and express their thoughts and feelings in artistic ways.
Sunday 17th Sept - 6pm - SBN Pub night
Courthouse Hotel, Australia St, Newtown
http://bi-nsw.org.au/events.html#pub
admin@bi-nsw.org.au
This is a social drink, chat, and dine event which Sydney Bisexual Network has been holding for over 12 years. An ideal opportunity to meet face to face with other people in the group without time constraints. Many people eat from the bistro but some of us head off to a nearby restaurant around 8pm. Look for a table with a pink/blue/purple candle, or the contact person is Graham 0416-070360.
Tuesday 19th Sept - 7pm - Bisexual Film Screening
Aurora Gallery
$5 / $2 Bi-NSW members
admin@bi-nsw.org.au
"Brokeback Mountain" - bisexual cowboys!!
Other details are still being finalised, but this will start with one or several short films (less than 10 minutes) by local directors, as well as the screening of Brokeback Mountain.
Wednesday 20th Sept - 7pm - Geschlechtgenie - Sex trivia competition
Aurora Gallery
$10 / $5 concession & Bi-NSW members
admin@bi-nsw.org.au
Nurse Nancy returns for another evening of questions of a sexual bent as well as her observations on how those questions relate to queer life in the Sydney environs. Come along as a group to compete together, or join a table and make new friends - and maybe discover a few more things about sex that your parents didn't tell you!
Friday 22nd Sept - 2pm - Close up QArt - Volunteers required
Aurora Gallery
qart@bi-nsw.org.au
We have to clear out from the gallery after the week of events so anybody that has a free Friday afternoon will be most welcome to join us.
Friday 22nd Sept - 8pm - Bisexual Sex on Premises visit for guys and girls
Aarows, 17 Bridge Street, Rydalmere
$15 admission
sbm@bi.org.au
Aarows - www.aarows.com.au - is a sex on premises venue that allows all genders (unlike most SOPVs which are for men only) which means that it's an ideal venue for a group of multi-gender bisexuals to descend upon for a night of fun frolics. If you've not previously visited such a venue this is a good time to scope out things in the company of a few friends.
Saturday 23rd Sept - 10pm - Biversity XIV "Fur Fins Feathers & Flesh"
Lava Bar, Burdekin Hotel, Oxford St.
$25 / $20 Bi-NSW members ** NO DOOR SALES **
Tickets @ Toolshed, Darlinghurst and Adult Land, Newtown (above Happy Chef)
Online sales info @ http://bi-nsw.org.au/events.html#Biversity
biversity@bi.org.au
A "no attitude" dance party for bisexuals and their friends. This is a fun night out "in the jungle" with friends who are accepting of all genders, all sexualities, all body shapes, all clothing styles, all ages, etc etc etc. Having said that, if you dress to the theme you'll find it much easier to strike up conversations and make new friends. Please note that to help keep this a community event we will NOT be selling tickets on the door and there is a practical limit on attendees imposed by the venue space. ie. buy your tickets ASAP!
Sunday 24th Sept - 1pm - Queer Family Picnic
Jubilee Park, End of Glebe Pt Rd, Glebe
admin@bi-nsw.org.au
Here's where we finally wind down with an event to which you can bring along family, friends, dogs, and of course food and drink. This picnic is held annually as our official part of International Celebrate Bisexuality Day. Hopefully by that time the Sydney weather will have settled into a nice warm spring. BYO everything. Look for the Sydney Bisexual Network banner, or ring 0416-070360.
If you have questions about any of the events themselves please email the contact address mentioned. If you see any errors please let me know - treasurer@bi-nsw.org.au , or I'll be available on the end of my phone for most of the week if you get lost or confused as to what is happening, 0416-070360.
